With a lil bit of help !!

Life's miserable when you run around the Indian Govt. offices especially the passport office. Getting a passport from the Indian Passport Office is as difficult as it gets. The long lines and endless wait, is unberable. At the same time one cant blame the passport office coz of the rampant forgery prevalent in India. But the reader may ask why I mention the passport ofc. It's all because of a dreadful mistake I made on July 7th 2005. It was raining heavily. I went happily carrying my passport in my pocket to find it all drenched. With time the passport lost its sheen and its life, I found myself stuck with a "damaged" passport. With the passport policies rather infexible I had to take to make the obvious move, a duplicate passport. It was difficult because the rules were not extremely in my favour and neither did I have any time. I needed the passport urgently rather badly. Tried to contact all the higher ups whom my father knew but of no avail. I dont know but that night of 15th October something struck my mind. She was aditi, aditi parida. Just for a brief introduction she was in our team for quite some time. Though our interactions were very brief and I had the faith that I could get some help from her. But i was curious and worried because not all girls are that helpful, atleast the ones i have met never were. The next day went fantastic.. meeting her.. wow.. she was all "sure sure" we can do it. Her words were truly encouraging. I was delighted.. I took a deep sigh of relief. By 2 weeks time I had my new passport, thanks to her.. thanks to her father.. both kind a helped me save months of wait and probably anxiety. I owe her and her family in more than one ways. So the next time I carry my passport.. I will echo "thanks thanks aditi".

Mom is truly great

The day, the 26th of August'06. In one month time I was going to appear for the
exam. The exam was probably one of the most important day in my life. The exam
seemed less than difficult for me after months of practice and dedication.
But.. I was gripped by a fear within. The fear of loosing out once again after
enduring months of personal pain and trauma. Better not go into details. The
point was to prove a point. I knew I had it in me to do what I have been doing
for my entire life, doing the best. Mom came the next day just to provide the
support and encouragement for the upcoming exam. My word she lived upto it. She
was angry and a bit worried about my state of mind. She knew I was scoring great
marks in the Mock tests. But she was more worried whether I would be able to
sustain myself for longer periods. I knew something was awfully wrong with me.
But with her support I eagerly waited for the exam. Then came the day,Sept the
26th. Outside the test center, she waited the whole afternoon under the shades
of the tree just hoping that I could do something good. There came the news
that people at the center were not scoring more than 1200. After a 5 hours wait
I was more than happy to not make her dissapointed. I came outside the center
scoring decent marks . Mom stood up with great anxiety and wished I
came up with some good news. After hearing the score she was more than
relieved. People around started congratulating me. Even though I wasnt all that
satisified with the score but then again something is better than nothing.
Travelling great distances, facing great troubles she finally got me to the
shores of hope. To put it statistically I owe 80% of the success to my Mom
(alongwith dad) and the rest 20% to luck. Though I will never able to tell how
much I owe to her but probably she realizes her contribution.
